Would you try a kitchen appliance that could save you $325 a year?
It’s easy to use and so efficient that it uses just one cent to make a meal! One cent!
It can give you home-cooked meals in just minutes after you come home from work. Who doesn’t like that?
What is this modern wonder?
A pressure cooker!
Yes, it’s been around forever. Why don’t more cooks use it?
I think it’s because they got a bad reputation back in the 1950’s. They were tricky to use back then and sometimes burned people. No more of that thank goodness.
Modern pressure cookers are completely safe and easy to use. They are wonderful for those of us who need to make a meal in minutes. Forgot to load the slow cooker this morning? No problem. Just put the food in the pressure cooker for a home-cooked meal in the time it takes for you to change your clothes and have a cup of coffee. Recipes are online (just search) and often come with the pressure cooker too.
What can you cook in a pressure cooker?
- Roasts do very well in a pressure cooker.
- You can cook up a family pack of crumbled ground beef to use in all sorts of recipes. Freeze into recipe size portions. (My dear daughter-in-law does this and it’s amazingly fast.)
- Soups, stews, and chili
- Pulled pork
- Potato salad
- “Hard-Boiled Eggs”
- Chicken broth (quickest method ever)
- Carnitas
- Chicken
- Beans (quick way to cook dried beans too!)
Use less spices because the pressure extracts more flavor from the spices. So you save on spices too!
It’s a different way of cooking, but you will find your favorite ways to use it. Check out some recipes online to see if it’s for you. Besides saving on energy, quick easy meals are a big plus! Try it–you’ll like it!
