Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? So many people do. Everyone is telling me that they have been to the gym. I wonder if anyone has made resolutions for anything besides losing weight/getting in shape!
The best way to achieve your resolutions? Break any resolution into small steps. Then break it down some more. The smaller the steps, the more possible it is to achieve. With each step that you accomplish, your self-esteem gets higher. You build momentum and get stronger as you go. If you experience a set-back, you can easily get back on track by attacking the next step.
Some people like to set a date for each step. If that motivates you, go for it. I prefer to think of each step as a goal to be achieved at my own pace. That way I don’t get a feeling of failure that leads to me giving up too soon. You have to know yourself what works best for you.
So set your goals realistically and break them into do-able pieces. Does this make sense for you or do you have some special ways to motivate yourself to make changes? Did you make any resolutions this year?
