Stump to Side Table |
I just had to put this up. Isn’t this clever? They took tree stumps from a fallen tree and turned them into side tables. I love the look and it goes well with contemporary decor.
Basically they just leveled the stumps and used Minwax Colonial Walnut Wood-Sheen Rubbing Stain followed by Minwax Helmsman Spar Urethane to seal it and protect the finish. You can still see the grain and enjoy the natural beauty. To level the stumps you can use a chain saw or try adding shims as they did.
They added heavy duty roller wheels to the bottom so they can be moved more easily. If you don’t do that you can still roll them around! I like this look for a family room or even out on a patio. Actually I like this in any room! Talk about bringing the outdoors in.If you see a downed tree, you might want to ask if they’d be willing to let you have a couple of stumps, for free or for a price.
