Mini Hedgehog Cookies |
Just a quick post with some amazing cookies. These look great on a cookie tray and make wonderful gifts also.
Click here for these adorable Mini-Hedgehog Cookies at Six In The Suburbs blog. They are just shortbread cookies dipped in chocolate and then crushed walnuts. So cute on a cookie tray or at each place setting. Update: MiBlog has a great idea: make them into polar bears by using white chocolate. So cute and great for a Winter Wonderland party!
Nutella Bourbon Balls
Here’s a different take on bourbon balls usingNutella. You can use various kinds of liqueur in these also. Yum. Click here for the recipe for Nutella Bourbon Balls at Step Step Recipes.

Chocolate Lace Cookies |
Chocolate Lace Cookies are very gourmet, yet inexpensive to make. Click here for the recipe at Sugar Derby. These are very chewy, almost like a thin layer of caramel covered in chocolate. I’ve had these at a chi-chi restaurant with vanilla ice cream and they were terrific. Only they served the cookies topped by the ice cream. The cold made the cookies almost impossible to get out of the dish, but they were so good that I kept digging away with my spoon to get every last yummy bit. I suggest serving these on the side with ice cream. Be sure to use good dark chocolate on these.

Coconut Kiss Cookies |
Click here for the recipe for Macaroon Kiss Cookies at Rook No. 17. It seems you can put a Hershey’s Kiss on any cookie to make it more interesting. You can also use candied cherries in red and/or green for these. Those cherries look good on shortbread also for a red, white, and green look. Mom always cut small shortbread circles with a doughnut hole cutter for these. They were so pretty on her Christmas cookie tray, like little jewels.

German Chocolate Brownies |
If you like German chocolate cake, you will like German Chocolate Brownies with Brown Sugar Pecan Coconut Crust. I’d cut these on the small side because they are so rich. Click here for the recipe at Bankindom.
These adorable mice are made of candy and perched atop a cookie. The head is an unwrapped Hershey’s kiss and the body is a chocolate-dipped maraschino cherry with the cherry stem serving as the tail. Pretty easy! Just dip the cherries and assemble with slivered almonds stuck in for the ears. You can use dots of frosting for the eyes. So cute! These will disappear at any party! KK, I agree! I think they’d be adorable for other holidays too. Just about any holiday except Halloween & Fourth of July, I think!

Funny! I’m ordinarily a night person, but lately I’ve been up early too. Wish we could get together for lunch! Merry Christmas!

I know Christmas busy. 1a.m. Gee. That is late. Take care of you.
I was afraid there was something wrong with my computer since another site really did loose a commnet I made recently. I thought the Mayan end was REALLY near with all these comments going ‘missing.’ LOL If we survive the end of the world this weekend, wanna have lunch with me Monday?
Computers have replaced men in my life as the thing I most can’t live with….nor without.
Merry Chritmas.

I have to agree the hedgehogs are almost too cute to eat! As for the Nutella balls, I think I’ll have to just make some time to make these little wonders! Even if I don’t get to them till New Year’s, it’s ok!

Sorry, Roberta! No gremlins. I just had a busy day today & didn’t get to my computer until 1 AM! Busy, busy with family stuff.
