We are fortunate to have a big extended family coming for Thanksgiving this year. We’ll have many hands to help with the food and to take turns with the babies. Just thought you might like to see our menu. Items in brown text link to the recipes. Starred items will be made before the big day to keep things somewhat sane.
|Ants and Ladybugs on Logs|
*Cornbread Dressing with Pecans and Apples
*Ham for those who don’t like turkey
Quick Garlic Green Beans with Toasted Walnuts (using frozen green beans for convenience)
*Lemon Rice with Peanuts
|Turkey Veggie Platter from Eating With Food Allergies Blog|
*Baked Sweet Potatoes, simply baked in the oven like baked potatoes and various toppings on the table
*Quick Cranberry Orange Relish with pecans added at last minute
Applesauce from a jar for those who don’t like cranberry sauce
*“Buttery Cornbread” with Apple Butter
*Perfect Pumpkin Pie in Graham Cracker Crust with Whipped Cream
Whew! Thank goodness for those many hands! As our family grows we have more dietary needs to consider, so our menu changes a bit every year. Do you stick to old favorites or do you try something new every year? We always have to have pumpkin pie and turkey. The rest varies according to who is coming and who is bringing something. It’s all good.
Kids might like to arrange a fun raw veggie platter that looks like a turkey. Cute!
