Happy Weird People? |
I notice that quite a few people who did a Google search for “happy weird people” ended up here on Square Pennies. I’m not quite sure how to take that. Perhaps anyone who looks happy these days is considered weird? Anyway, welcome all happy weird people! Or those who want to be happy and weird.
I do believe we can be happy even when the economy is not ideal and our lives are not perfect. We can have fun while making meals with family and friends, choosing to spend money on things that really mean something to us, and being useful to others. Even when we have a lot of stress, we can put to work tricks to manage stress and get done the things we want/need to get done.
Happiness in the moment comes in appreciating the people in our lives and the little things that often end up being the most important things. Sharing a cup of coffee with a friend and keeping that friendship strong over the years really enriches your life. Playing with the kids in the leaves is still great fun even if the economy is is bad shape. Sure we have to pay attention to the budget, save money, and try to keep our jobs. But we can still have fun. If that’s weird, so be it!
Welcome happy weird people! Please share what makes you happy. And we are all a little weird in one way or another. That’s normal.
I did find which post brought searchers for “happy weird people” here. It’s this one on how to psych yourself into being happy. It’s a little trick to feel happier just about any time you want. Click any of the labels below this post for more ideas to be happier with inexpensive fun. Break out of your rut with some new ways of doing things! Sometimes trying just one new thing can make a big difference.

I love these suggestions! I think I feel much calmer just thinking about them! We all need ways to decompress and keep our stress levels down. Thanks so much for your ideas–much appreciated!

Botanical Garden in the spring, calling friends for a cup of tea in your house. Walk around the mountains. Chill with your dear ones, if they are in the net and you read, so what? You can still laugh and catch up, chat in between sharing stories. Study a new skill or practice an existing skill (eg. create a website, craft, etc.)
