This is a cute project that takes very little time. You need a man’s long-sleeved button down shirt & some thread. If you don’t have a shirt to use, check the thrift stores for one that will work for you.
The idea is to wear the shirt backwards using the folded down collar as the top of the bodice of this strapless dress. You tie the sleeves together on your back & with the help of a friend cut & sew the sleeves to become a way to button them to each other in the back. I’m not explaining it very well–the Instructable is much better!
You leave the bottom of the shirt as your hem even though it will be curved. It’s part of the charm! This is definitely a young look & will keep you cool during hot summer days. You can add straps if you don’t want it to be strapless. One commenter said she’s going to make one with straps for her little girl using a woman’s shirt. Another person had ideas for adding details. Definitely worth reading the comments.
