Dip looks so great in a hollowed out cabbage! You can put any cold dip in the “cabbage bowl.” I love the way the raw veggies are arranged around it in this photo. It just makes you want to grab some veggies and dive in.
Try this for your next party for a really great presentation. Peel off the outer leaves of the cabbage and throw them in your compost. The parts of the cabbage you hollow out can be used later in cole slaw or soup. The cabbage bowl can be cut up later and used in the same way. So there is no waste, but a very fun serving dish.
This would be great to take to a potluck when you want to be sure there will be something healthy or low calorie to eat.
By the way, anytime you cup up raw veggies, put the cut pieces in cold water ahead of time. That way the veggies get even crisper and better tasting because they take in some of the water. Drain them before serving and enjoy the extra fresh taste! The few drops of water left on them just makes them look more inviting.
For a fresh-tasting dip you might like Greek tzatziki dip. Click on the “tzatziki” tab below this post for more.
