The Archbishop of Canterbury says to have a messy Christmas. He says to accept that things will not go perfectly. He says that things will be messed up, that that’s normal. If you strive for perfection you will be disappointed and have too much stress. I agree.
The turkey won’t be perfect. The kids will fight. Aunt Marge will forget to bring the cake. Just think about all the mayhem in the movie National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation! Your family has quite a ways to go to equal that.
Just enjoy the mayhem as part of the holiday. Be generous with hugs and kisses. And have a glass of wine!
