I’m reposting this link because many people are looking for a computer to take to college right now. I’ve read it’s not a good idea to send a tablet computer with them because they get dropped too easily. Plus they are expensive.
Here’s why you should consider a used/refurbished computer to send off with your student. You could score a great deal & help keep college costs down a little bit. Also it’s not as likely to be stolen as the latest & greatest.

Wow, that’s quite a deal. I didn’t know a used hard drive would be so inexpensive. Great job! I bet your son has a lot of fun with it! Love the idea of lego stop motion videos! Thanks for your input, Travis!

My neighbors had a computer go down on them last summer. Their first instinct was to just go buy a new one..which they did. I asked if I could try to repair their old one. They just **gave** it to me. I bought a used hard drive for $20, re-installed it, and have a perfectly good computer that I setup for my son to use with a webcam for making his lego stop motion videos!
