I’m reposting this for the back-to-school season. This woman has a pretty good system for making lunches and snacks for the week. She says it takes her 1 hour total to set up everything for a week, and she’s able to make lunches for about $1 each. That’s pretty good savings over a school bought lunch.
She does buy snack crackers, etc. in bulk–probably at Sam’s Club or Costco. She uses snack size disposable containers (but reuses them). You can probably get your kids to bring them home each day, but if they forget sometime it’s not a huge loss.
I don’t know how practical storing snack items in a metal trash can is, especially since that trash can is kept outsdie. But it works for her. I guess she doesn’t have any extra storage space in the house or garage. I could see using empty popcorn tins for this.
