Love cupcakes? How about a little American flag on the top of a cupcake? Very cute.
Just frost any cupcake or muffin with while frosting, smoothing it out as much as possible. Then put some small blueberries to be the stars. Be sure they are dry when you put them on so they don’t make a little puddle in the icing. You can make 3 rows of 3 blueberries to be like the cupcakes in the photo. Smaller blueberries fit better for this.
The last part is the hardest. Buy some red fruit leather (like Fruit Roll-Ups) and carefully cut narrow strips to be the stripes on the flag. The strips will be sticky, so it takes time to pick each one up & lay it down on the top of the cupcake. You need a steady hand and patience to get all the stripes laid down. You’ll need 3 of the longer stripes and 3 of the shorter stripes to have them look like the above photo.
I think the silvery aluminum foil cupcake holders look really nice for the Fourth of July!

Click on the label “Fourth of July” for more red-white-and-blue desserts that are delicious & not so tricky to put together. I like the sheet cake frosted white with blueberries for the stars & rows of strawberry halves to make the red stripes. A red, white, & blue trifle is very nice too!
