Happy Mother’s Day to everyone who is a mother or has taken to mothering others. The hardest job in the world is indeed the most important.
A couple months ago I wrote the linked post about my parents’ approach to life. They were part of “The Greatest Generation” that had weathered the Great Depression and World War II. I think they typified the can-do attitude of many from that crucible. They took on challenges as just what they had to do, but they developed a determination to make good things happen, no matter how hard the times.
Growing up as a baby boomer, I didn’t realize how wonderful my parents were. They just always seemed to have several projects going and there was never any doubt that they could make something work and do it well. My husband’s parents were similar in their attitudes and work ethic. It truly is/was an amazing generation.
