This is a gorgeous appetizer of fresh asparagus with cheese on puff pastry. It’s pretty easy to make & is impressive and yummy. You need about one and 1/2 pounds of asparagus, but it goes a long way if you serve it as an appetizer. Be sure to break the asparagus stems off where they begin to get woody.
You can substitute other cheeses for the Gruyere. The recipe says to use Fontina or Emmentaler, but you might find other cheeses work well too.
This is great for a brunch, appetizer, or to bring to a potluck. Celebrate Spring in style!
The recipe says it serves 4 people, but if you cut it into small slices it serves more on a buffet with other appetizers.
