Here’s a sweet decorative box/bowl you can make with any fabric, including scraps you may have, to hold many things. It’s shown being held together by ribbons, but you could use other ways to hold it together. You could even tape the cardboard together at the seams & then cover it in decoupage of paper or fabric.
This decorative container could work in just about any room in your house as long as you don’t put things in it that are too heavy. It would look nice with yarn balls, photos, Christmas cards, hair bows, and other lightweight items.

Jeanine, that’s great! I really hate wasting things too. I bet these will look great in your girls’ room! Have fun!

OMGSH so I was looking through your tag of decoupage, as recommended on your decoupage recipe post: what I found was more different inspiration, that I had NEVER EVEN THOUGHT OF before this!! Let me explain: I have had these wooden clementine boxes all winter. We eat them like crazy and I can’t handle the constant waste I think of with the boxes just ‘being tossed’..so I saved them for repurpose. Just didnt know what for! I could ONLY think of Painting them–NOW, bcuz of this post, I will ‘fabric them’ to be used on the girls shelving units! AMAAZING and thank you again!!!,
