These roses are made from rick rack you can buy at a fabric store for very little money. The linked tutorial says you can use it for a ring, but I could see one attached to a necklace on the side. They would be great hot glued on a hair barette or hand stitched onto a fabric purse. They could be used in any number of ways for a wedding–the flower girl’s basket, the ring bearer’s pillow, the bridesmaid’s shoes, etc. Rick rack comes in a lot of colors that could work for a wedding.
Rick rack comes in different widths. The smallest size would not work for this, but the others would. The largest size makes petals big enough to turn down as shown here. The medium size would be better suited to making rose buds with the petals not turned down. Rose buds make great embellishments too. Red and pink rosebuds would be very pretty for Valentine’s Day projects, IMHO.
If you want to add these to something that goes into the washing machine, realize that the rick rack will need to be adjusted & the petals turned down again afterwards. The dryer might make this pretty difficult. If possible make these roses detachable so that they don’t go through the washer/dryer. Or else hang the garment to air dry & arrange the petals while they are still damp. That should work just fine.
