You can easily make pom-poms from yarn of any size and any color you want. You need no skills to make them.
For fashion: you can add them to boots, socks, sweaters, hats, purses, book bags, head bands, knitted scarves, whatever. Use “eyelash yarn” combined with coordinating regulary (non-fuzzy) yarn for a furry look.
Here’s an idea to add them to the tops of boots with a knitted cuff for a fashion look. To make a matching knitted cuff for the top of the boots takes only the most basic knitting skill. Just knit a rectangle long enough to go around the top of boot. Make it twice as wide as you want it to show. Then connect the 2 narrow ends of the rectangle with yarn and a craft needle and a sort of running stitch or a blanket stitch. Whatever works. Make another one for the other boot. Fold over the knitted cuff & tape to the inside of the boot top with some duct tape. (This can be removed when you don’t want it on.) Then take a length of your yarn on the craft needle and make a long running stitch that shows in big stitches along the middle of the cuff that shows on the outside of the boot. Start the stitching at the place you want the pom-poms to hang from. End the stitching there coming around the other side. Pull the yarn a bit to scrunch up the cuff slightly. Then tie the ends together and double knot to keep that tension. Add the pom-poms attaching with more yarn or a purchased cord (shoe lace?) & leaving enough yarn for the pom-poms to hang from.
