We love sloppy Joe’s. It brings back memories of my teen years when we only got these at the church youth group. The linked recipe is hugely popular at AllRecipes.
My quick method is to brown the ground beef, add hot water & simmer a bit to get the fat out of the meat. Then I use a slotted spoon to take the beef out of the water & put it into a pot. In the pot I add approximately equal parts barbeque sauce and catsup, adjusting to taste. We like it a lot & it’s very easy.
Of course if you cook hamburger crumbles ahead of time & freeze them in meal sized portions (or even individual sized portions), you can whip up some sloppy Joe’s in no time flat. Now that’s fast food! You might even get your teens to make their own that way. You can freeze leftover sloppy Joe mix also, but it will take longer to thaw than the hamburger crumbles.
