This is a super easy necklace you can make in the style of one for sale at Anthropologie. This bib necklace was originally for sale at $42 & is now discounted to $30. However you can make it for just $2 or $3 if you have a chain already to use. You could also use a ribbon and just tie it in a bow in the back.
Just buy a small cotton doily at a craft store or fabric store. They are about $2-3 at regular price last time I checked. Then cut off the portion you don’t want to use & turn under the raw edge. With a matching thread whip stitch the edge by hand so that it doesn’t look like a raw edge any more.
Then you can whip stitch a chain to the doily along the new edge. The photo shows the chain showing in the front of the doily, but you could keep it to the back if you like.
I’m excited about this because I’ve been saving a particularly nice piece of cotton medallion lace trying to think how to use it. This will look great with t-shirts, dresses, just about anything!
You can wear it just like that & it will be like the photo. Or add your own embellishments of beads, ribbons, flowers, etc. Have fun!
