These are super simple to make & can be made with any of the fun fabrics you can find at the fabric or craft store. This drawstring bag replaces the stuff sack that a sleeping bag comes with. You make it a little bigger so that it’s easier to get the sleeping bag in and to have a little extra room for the stuff commonly brought to a sleep over. Before starting to sew, shrink the fabric by washing it & letting it dry in the dryer. Then iron it before cutting and sewing.
I’ve sewn several fun pillow cases for my grandsons (an even easier project) using fabric with Thomas the Tank engine, an airport scene, animals from Noah’s Ark, etc. You can find fabric with cartoon characters like Sponge Bob, movie themes, and more funky abstract art for older kids. This fabric is not usually all that cheap, but you might find some on sale.
You could even make a bigger one as a laundry bag for a college student. Lots of fun and very easy to do.
