Map coasters look really nice, and they can be a personalized gift if you pick a map of a place the person has been to or plans to go to. Or if you just have old maps that you don’t know what to do with you can use them. They just look so interesting. But then I like maps.
You can use maps to decoupage all sorts of things for a cool look, including wooden boxes, cannisters, picture frames, or even make book jackets with them. Anything you can decoupage can work with maps.
The coasters need to be waterproof, so spray them with a sealer at the end. Otherwise water from a glass could start dissolving the decoupage glue & make a sticky mess. Click label “decoupage glue” below this post for an easy recipe for basic decoupage glue.
