These are fun for a party & you can probably find a used monopoly game at a yard sale or resale shop like GoodWill. Those sets often have pieces missing, so it’s not so bad to break up the set for this project. You could spray the monopoly board with a sealer & then set dishes of appetizers on it if you like. Those cream cheese penguin appetizers could look nice there. Click the label “penguin appetizers” below this post for the directions.
Another idea is to make an ice breaker game for the beginning of the party. Tape names of places on the Monopoly board on the back of each person. Give prizes for those who find their color group of properties or all the railroads find each other, etc. People can ask questions of others about the name printed on their back, but they can’t ask what color it is & must guess the name on their back to find their partners. Give out gag gifts for the prizes–Monopoly money? The idea is to help people get to know each other quickly in a fun way and get the party started.
This might be nice for a game night as well. Have fun!
