Sadly 35,000 enrolled students are left wondering what happened. It’s just another episode in the for-profit career school scandal.
Beware the for-profit career schools you see advertised on tv. Do you own research. Most of these “schools” are inflating their placement statistics big time.
They say that an art student has an appropriate job placement when they went to work for a coffee shop because they were writing the day’s specials on a chalk board. I was shocked about these reports on CNBC. I didn’t know that The Art Institute was one of these type schools.
Be very careful before you invest your money and time in one of these schools. It might not help you much. Even if your tuition is covered mostly by the government, it could still be a scam.
UPDATE: The recent closing of all ITT Tech “schools” is another sad example of this. Thousands of students enrolled are left in limbo. Don’t think just because you see ads on tv for these schools that they are legit. It is safer to take classes at your local community college than at most for-profit schools. You have to do your homework.
