The linked site is a work in progress, so they don’t have any directions for making these gorgeous ornaments yet. But some of the photos take my breath away. Just amazing.

Kusudama is not considered to be origami because the ornaments have sewing or gluing to attach the individual folded parts together to make the ball shape. Still the individual parts are made by origami in most cases.
I love the ones that look like flowers attached to each other. These would be fantastic gifts any time of year, but the flower balls would be gorgeous for Mother’s Day or a shower decoration. They could be hung at Christmas time also.
