It’s never too early to start on Christmas gifts in my experience. These stockings are so beautiful. The body of the stocking is cut from an old sweater and the cuff is from other fabric. The combinations can be quite breath-taking IMHO.
I really like the sweater part to be from a patterned sweater or one with some interesting knit patterns, but if your sweater is plain you can always add your own embellishments. (If you don’t want to use a sweater you have, scout out GoodWill, etc. for large size sweaters.) You can easily customize the cuff for the recipient either their name/initials or something that is their style. Have fun with this!
Now what can we make from the left over parts of the sweater? I hate to waste. If it’s wool, it could be felted to make embellishments for purses, hats, etc. Click on the label “recycle sweater” at the end of this post for ideas.
