Ok, so you want something fancy for a party, special occasion, or even a Valentine’s Day surprise. These would be perfect. You choose a cake mix, bake it in a sheet cake pan, let it cool, then cut out the shapes of cake desired.
This recipe is for cake balls, but you can make the cake in various shapes. It is basically a “petit four” made in ball shape. Petit fours (pronounced “petty four”) have been fancy food for years & years in high end restaurants, confectioners, and caterers. Petit fours have usually been in rectangles, squares, & sometimes triangles. Cake balls are a fun way to try your hand at it. If you get good at it you could probably sell them as a side business and charge a pretty penny for them. You could make special ones for holidays or weddings.
