This is my own “invention;” I hope you like it. I do this quick method of a cran-orange relish pretty often. Most people love it & some say they prefer it to the fresh recipe (just below this post).
You put raw cranberries (after you wash them & pick them over) in the food processor & chop them to the texture you like. Then put them in a serving bowl & mix in a jar of any brand orange marmalade (cheapest is fine). Add in as much as you want, tasting as you go. The sweetness of the marmalade sweetens the cranberries & the orange peel in the marmalade adds the peels we like in this relish. Plus the jelly of the marmalade has a definite orange flavor to add to the relish. We love it.
You can add nuts to this after it’s mixed if you like. This is so quick to do; it really helps out when you are busy with other dishes for your feast. You can make it a day or two ahead to help streamline your Thanksgiving Day as well.
We like this at other times of the year too, but it is a must for Thanksgiving. It is good with chicken, turkey, or pork. Very easy, very good.
