I’m sharing a couple of posts that caught my eye this week.
Make your favorite grilled foods healthier (almost no carcinogens) and make your own crystallized ginger! Yum! Get healthier with these tasty tips!
1. Make Your Own Crystallized Ginger
I love crystallized ginger! It tastes like really good candy. Plus it can soothe your sore throat and act as a mild decongestant at the same time. Many people find it helps get rid of a cold a little faster.
Have you priced crystallized ginger at the store? Yikes!
Make it yourself for much less and get a good supply of it at the same time. It lasts as long as you can leave it alone!

She got 2 quarts of ginger syrup as a bonus. She plans to use it to make ginger ale, but I’d like it on pound cake! Cough syrup? Added to smoothies? A little drizzled on fresh fruit salad? Sigh.

2. Healthier Grilling that Eliminates 99% of Carcinogens
It’s grilling season and we love it!
Here’s an article that claims you can get rid of 99% of the harmful cancer-causing carcinogens found in most grilled food. Now that’s a deal! I was surprised that most sauces and marinades you can buy are really bad for you.
Time for a few tweaks to the old grilling routine!
Are marinades pointless? Some people think so. At least marinating for more than a few minutes. It does not tenderize the meat. Does not. You read that right.
