|Turn Off That Light!|
We had an eye-opening experience recently with our electricity bill. It was $22 for the previous month. And we were not happy. That’s because we had been gone all during that month visiting various family members. When we’ve been gone that much before the bill was around $2.
What caused the $20 difference? We accidentally left one light bulb on in the basement. One. Light. Bulb. Next time you wonder if it’s worth it to turn off a light, think of that. I can think of other ways I’d rather spend $20, and I bet you can too.
By the way, the bulb in question was one of the newer corkscrew “bulbs” that are supposed to save electricity. I hate to think what an old fashioned bulb would have cost.
We will be double checking our lights before leaving the house on vacation from now on–especially in the basement! Who needs that kind of drain on the budget? Turn off that light!
